The Search For God On The High Seas

The search for God on the High Seas

It was a blue sailboat
Dad gave it to me as a present
We sailed it across the wading pool
Above the fray
Over wind bursts
Through malignant calm
Where never fits in
Happiness on a sunbeam
Reach
Beyond horizons
I took that model boat
To the beach
Pointed it out to sea
Against all odds
In a wave of hope
That that boat was me
As it bounced toward disaster
As its only destiny
From here on out
I thought
I could truly be
Lost and found
