God's Bell

For God's sake

There was a fence
There was a bench
There was a moat
There was a boat
There was a trifle
Moment
There was a rifle
There was a whore
There was a war
There was a lot more
There was some gumption
There was an assumption
There was a creation
Chaos
There was a little
There was a lot
There was a child
There was a cot
Entangled
Mangled
There was nothing
There was no sense
There was the long and short of it
Sentence
There was no way out
There was no way in
There was no start
From which to begin
In all this madness
In all this Hell
I still heard the ringing
Of God's bell
